Shielding and Lubrication
The 6004 bearing ships in three sealing configurations. Open (no suffix) suits oil-bath and oil-mist lubricated housings where speed is the priority; it reaches 22,000 RPM with oil and 18,000 RPM with grease. ZZ bearing uses double SPCC steel shields pressed into the outer ring. These non-contact labyrinths block coarse debris with zero seal drag. 2RS bearing uses NBR rubber contact seals riding on the inner ring shoulder for positive protection against moisture, fine dust, and light liquid splash at 13,000 RPM.
At 12mm width and 42mm OD, the 6004 bearing has a radial cross-section of 11mm. The seals do not compromise the load path. Factory fill is lithium soap grease. Polyurea, fluorinated high-temperature, and food-grade NSF H1 greases are available for volume orders.
