6307 Deep Groove Ball Bearing 35x80x21mm

The 6307 bearing crosses the 80mm OD threshold where series-3 deep groove bearings begin to replace light-series cylindrical roller bearings in combined-load applications. At 35mm bore, it delivers 33.2 kN dynamic load in a single-row envelope without the speed penalty of a roller design.

Shielding and Lubrication

The 6307 ZZ bearing uses non-contact SPCC steel shields pressed into the outer ring. At 80mm OD, the shield surface area is large enough that centrifugal expansion at 7,500 RPM must be accounted for in the shield-to-inner-ring clearance. The factory-set gap accounts for this expansion, maintaining labyrinth integrity across the full speed range. Each bearing ships at 25-35% grease fill with lithium soap grease for general industrial duty.

The 6307 2RS bearing variant uses nitrile contact seals on the inner ring shoulder. At 21mm width, the grease reservoir holds approximately 35% more volume than a 6207 bearing, supporting extended service intervals in pumps and fans where access for relubrication is limited. For washdown environments, fluorinated grease paired with stainless steel (440C) rings extends chemical resistance. The 2RS seal limits speed to approximately 4,300 RPM.

Performance

At 33.2 kN dynamic and 19.0 kN static, the 6307 bearing delivers 37% more capacity than the 6207 bearing (35x72x17mm, 25.7 kN Cr). The 8mm OD increase and 4mm extra width over the 62-series accommodate larger-diameter balls in a deeper raceway groove. A 6007 bearing (35x62x14mm, 16.8 kN) cuts the OD by 18mm and width by 7mm but surrenders nearly half the dynamic capacity. Select the 6307 bearing when load governs the design and the housing bore can accept 80mm. If OD is constrained to 72mm or below, specify a 6207 or 6007 bearing instead.

At 80mm OD, the 6307 bearing begins to overlap with light-series cylindrical roller bearings in load capacity for 35mm shafts. The key difference: the 6307 bearing handles combined radial-axial loads without a separate thrust bearing. For motor, pump, and gearbox applications where axial location is inherent to the assembly, the single-row deep groove ball bearing design eliminates an extra bearing position. A cylindrical roller accepts pure radial load only.

OEM and Customization

Yuanhe manufactures the 6307 bearing to customer specifications. Common OEM customizations include C3 and C4 internal clearance for electric motors from 10 to 30 hp where shaft thermal expansion closes the running clearance, fluorinated grease rated to 200 C for kiln and oven applications, and stainless steel (AISI 440C) rings and balls for food processing and chemical washdown. Cage options include stamped steel, glass-reinforced PA66-GF25 for reduced rotating mass, and machined brass for sustained operation above 5,500 RPM. Standard lead time is 7 to 15 days. Frequently Asked Questions

How does the 6307 bearing compare to a cylindrical roller bearing for a 35mm shaft? +
The 6307 bearing (33.2 kN Cr) handles both radial and axial loads in a single-row package. A comparable light-series cylindrical roller bearing delivers higher radial capacity at approximately 39 kN Cr, but accepts zero axial load. Adding a thrust bearing to absorb axial loads increases the assembly width by at least 15-20mm and requires an additional housing shoulder. For motor, pump, and gearbox applications where combined loading is moderate and assembly simplicity matters, the 6307 bearing eliminates one bearing position. For pure radial loads, the cylindrical roller is the correct choice.
What internal clearance is recommended for a 6307 bearing in an industrial motor? +
C3 radial clearance is standard for motors in the 10-30 hp range. The motor shaft heats faster than the housing at startup, and the inner ring expands radially, consuming 10-20 microns of the initial clearance. C3 provides 18-36 microns of radial play, ensuring the bearing does not zero out its clearance and preload at operating temperature. For vertical-shaft motors where the rotor weight adds constant axial load, C3 also accommodates the small contact-angle shift that occurs under thrust. CN clearance is used only for assemblies with spring preload or minimal thermal differential between shaft and housing.
Can the 6307 bearing operate at 7,500 RPM continuously? +
In open or ZZ configuration with polyurea-thickened synthetic ester grease (ISO VG 32-46), 7,500 RPM is sustainable for light to moderate loads at or below 10% of Cr. At higher loads or for continuous operation at the speed ceiling, oil-mist or circulating oil lubrication removes heat more effectively than grease. The ndm value (bore x speed) for the 6307 bearing at 7,500 RPM is 262,500 mm RPM, within the grease-lubricated limit for deep groove bearings. The 2RS sealed variant should not exceed 4,300 RPM due to seal lip friction and heat buildup.
Is the 6307 bearing available with a locating snap ring? +
Yes, the 6307 N variant includes a snap ring groove machined into the outer ring per ISO 464. The 6307 NR variant includes the snap ring itself. The groove dimensions are: diameter 76.8 mm (-0.15 tolerance), width 1.85 mm (+0.14 tolerance), located 2.05 mm from one outer ring face. These variants allow axial location without a housing shoulder or end cover, simplifying the housing bore to a straight-through diameter. Yuanhe supplies 6307, 6307 N, and 6307 NR configurations.
