ZZ metal shields use a non-contact labyrinth gap, retaining grease with negligible friction penalty. 2RS nitrile rubber seals form a positive lip contact against moisture and particulate ingress, reducing the speed ceiling to 9,500 RPM due to the larger seal contact circumference at 55mm OD. All sealed variants ship pre-greased for life with polyurea-thickened mineral grease; no field relubrication is required under normal conditions.

At 55mm OD, seal drag becomes a measurable factor in torque budget. The 2RS seal lip circumference at this diameter generates approximately twice the friction torque of the same seal on a 6002 bearing (32mm OD). For continuous-duty motors above 9,500 RPM, ZZ shields eliminate this drag while retaining grease. For agricultural and construction equipment exposed to dust, mud, and pressure washing, specify 2RS regardless of the speed penalty.

The 6005 bearing (25x47x12mm, 10.1 kN) serves compact motor frames; the 6006 bearing adds 31 percent more capacity with 5mm larger bore and 8mm larger OD. The 6007 bearing (35x62x14mm, 16.0 kN) gains another 21 percent. For 1 to 7.5 kW motor frames, the 6006 bearing provides load margin a 6005 bearing cannot sustain at full rated torque.

Compared to the 6206 bearing (30x62x16mm, 19.5 kN dynamic), the 6006 bearing saves 7mm OD and 3mm width at 32 percent lower load capacity. When a design team has tooled a housing for 55mm OD, retooling to 62mm for a 6206 bearing means new end bells, gearbox cases, or bearing seats. The 6006 bearing preserves that tooling investment. In conveyor pulley applications where multiple bearings share a common housing bore, the narrower 13mm profile reduces total axial tolerance accumulation compared to the 16mm 6206 bearing.
