635 ZZ bearing
Metal shielded deep groove ball bearing for small motor and power transmission applications. 5mm bore, 19mm OD, 6mm width. ABEC-3 precision, 40,000 RPM max with ZZ shields, 2.34kN dynamic load capacity.
The 635 is the largest-OD bearing in the 5mm-bore deep groove ball bearing series at 19mm. When a 5mm shaft must support radial loads above 2kN, the 635 ZZ bearing is the standard choice. The ZZ suffix means pressed steel shields on both sides. These metal shields are non-contact, adding zero friction drag. Factory-filled with grease and protected against coarse dust and debris for the life of the bearing. At 40,000 RPM, the ZZ configuration outruns rubber-sealed equivalents by roughly 20 percent.

The 635 ZZ bearing uses pressed steel shields (SPCC) on both sides. At 19mm OD, the non-contact gap between shield and inner ring is wide enough that the ZZ configuration adds virtually zero friction. The 635 ZZ bearing reaches 40,000 RPM with grease lubrication, roughly 20 percent faster than the rubber-sealed 635 2RS bearing variant. The tradeoff: metal shields deflect coarse dust and debris but cannot seal against liquid spray or fine particle ingress. Factory-filled with lithium-base grease, lubricated for life within the -40 to 120 degrees C service range. For wet or dusty environments, the 635 2RS bearing uses contact rubber seals that block moisture at the cost of approximately 8,000 RPM in maximum speed.
Within the 5mm-bore deep groove ball bearing series, the 635 bearing is the largest-OD option at 19mm. The 625 bearing (5x16x5mm) saves 3mm on OD but delivers roughly 1.74kN dynamic load, a 26 percent reduction. The 605 bearing (5x14x5mm) drops further to 14mm OD. When a 5mm shaft must support radial loads above 2kN, the 635 ZZ bearing is the standard choice. Chrome steel (GCr15) rings and balls, stamped steel cage. Manufactured to precision bearing standards with ABEC-3 tolerance, upgradeable to ABEC-5 on request.
Custom internal clearance (C2, CN, C3) is available for volume orders. C3 clearance is the most common request for 635 ZZ bearings used in electric motors, where press-fit mounting and thermal expansion reduce internal clearance. For sustained speeds above 30,000 RPM, a glass-fibre reinforced polyamide (PA66-GF25) cage can replace the standard steel cage, reducing rotating mass and operating noise. 440C stainless steel rings and balls are available for food-processing and marine environments.
